Views From The Nursing Home.

Hello Friends!

Yes, I have made it indoors for a spell. This is a nursing home on the South Side of Chicago. It gives me a chance to finally scrape off the dirt and relax a little. May have even gained a few pounds, which in my case is a good thing.

This is truly a microcosm of the real world, with good people, bad people and some just plain crazy! But I'm not complaining. I'm happy to be here, in fact.

I had to walk around and bug people to get the proper information about the rules and regulations in this institution, the times to do things like eat and sleep, wash clothes, etc., etc.

So very strange. I can, to a great extent, understand just way people don't like living in nursing homes.

For the most part, the CNA's treat the people like they are all somehow deficient and therefore beneath them. There are some welcome exceptions to this sad situation.

For my part, I hope to get a job, and finally get a tiny apartment quite soon, for this is nowhere near being home. In truth, I find I'm still homeless.

But this will change.

Bye-Bye for now!
