Just Checking In, Folks

Hi Readers, Far and Wide!

I must apologize for not keeping up with my blog here. Things have been slightly out of my control, lately.
This Nursing Home I'm in demands that I attend what they call a "program". It's a place I am forced to go daily where I sit and vegetate for 4 hours among the seriously disturbed residents of other Nursing Homes.
I am learning a lot about the reality of life at the low end of it all. Ever wonder what happens to the sad mentally-imbalanced people that are seen daily on the streets of Chicago?
You know who I mean.
The ones who mumble to themselves and make odd gestures at the sky. The obsessive-compulsive people. They and everyone like them must live somewhere. They are still human beings any way it goes.
I used to know this guy, years ago, who had the habit of smacking himself in the forehead with his fist as he conversed with people. You could feel the impact of his calloused knuckle against darkened spot in the middle of his forehead.
He wasn't stupid or ignorant. He was a College graduate. Could hold a deep discussion with anyone on many different subjects. It was just that head thing that kept him out of the job market.
It's no wonder people were upset about the movie "Tropic Thunder" and the use in it's script of the word "retard" said over and over again!
Only those who take care of poor suffers ( of an astonishing number of mental problems) would be aware of the insult that the use of the word "retard" slaps in the face of the caregivers and loved ones.
But enough for now. I will try to be more consistent in delivering these questionable nuggets of wisdom that seep out of my poor gray head.
Until Next Time! Bye, Bye!
