The Fall Must Be Here, Already...

Excuse me, but what happened to Summer in Chicagoland? It seemed to come and go so quickly! That is one of the reasons that I want to move to Southern California one day. I am so tired of the cold winters here.
It's especially hard on the homeless. During the warm seasons, even when it's chilly, there is always somewhere to crash; the park, doorway of a public place that's closed, the abandoned buildings that cover the area in this soft real estate market.
But in the winter, after one is pushed out into the cold by the shelters and missions, there are precious few places to rest and be warm and not pressured to leave by the managers, bosses, and owners.
Don't misunderstand me. I understand and sadly acknowledge their positions on the subject, I just wish there were more walk-in places on the South Side of Chicago. Places where one is welcome, with warmth and food.
In the immediate area I live, on a daily basis, there is only one place that does that.
Matthew Place, on Indiana and 37th streets, is seriously overcrowed on the truly cold days, but it remains the only space dedicated to helping the homeless in this capacity.
Literally a lifesaver!
It is run by a strong Black Female Minister who took over the managment of the place from her late husband. God Bless Her!
But let's get to business. I have been working to increase interest in this blog and have recently decided to try another approach. In the meantime, go to my business link and see if you like what you see, okay? Pray for me as I pray for you. Later!
