Hey!
I just came from the Chicago Human Services Department and, as I expected, they were of no help in my effort to get off the streets. There is this program that supposedly gets one into a YMCA for 4 months. It sounded too go to be true, so I made it over to the place to check it out.
Here's the deal. After you fill out papers, wait for an hour or so, you get to see a case-worker (or something along that line) to fill out some more papers. They also require a TB test to accept you.
At this point I was drooling. Think about it! After 7 years of homelessness, a place with 4 walls of my own! All I got to do it take the damn test.
Guess what? It costs money get the TB test in Chicago!
For some reason that doesn't sound exactly right. TB is a deadly desease and testing should be made free for the Common Good. Right?
It's the tent for real now!

Welcome Back To School!!
Well, it 's that time again.
School is in and the students (especially the kids) are going back to school. My daytime spot, the I.I.T. library on the South side, is actually crowded with students who need to register. So much for the quiet domain.
On the other hand, there will be fewer kids on the streets after September 4th.
Finally!! It is Joy!
This means fewer rocks and bottles being thrown at us older bums (homeless guys, nowadays). That's just the nice ones!!
Now is the time to look for the Winter housing if one expects to survive the cold. I had this fantasy of living in a tent earlier this year, but with the revelation of arthritis in my knee, I think I might hide away in a nursing home or such.
The nurse said that I have a "touch" of arthritis. A touch, she said. This touch hurt like hell!! I thought my knee had a fracture, for real!!
My poor arthritic knee might feel better if you were to visit my business site, Cognigen. Try it. Buy something for my aching knee. Then call me on your new cell phone, alright?
See you later, Gator!

This Old Body..
I never truly appreciated how hard this life is on one's poor body. I routinely carry 50-70lbs of "stuff" with me everywhere I go. These things represent everything I own in the world. When you see the weary carrying their goods on their backs, stop short of pointing fingers and laughing.
Pray for them instead.
This poorly maintained physical form breaks down over a period of time, anyway. Those who live on the street have very serious health issues as a rule. Every new sickness that hits the country starts first in the homeless community.
I remember when I was diagnosed as having prostate cancer. I had no idea that the things I was going through (inability to hold urine, sleepiness and endless fatigue)wheren't just old age, but really symtoms of cancer.
This is the way it is for the majority of homeless people in varying degrees.
But enough of the sad things in life, lets consider your cell phone bills and how to lessen them. Be sure to click on the link and get some great deals on cell phones and other electronic must-have items. Do it! Until next time...

So It Begins!
You might be wondering just what this crazy person is talking about. I can't blame you, so I'll get right to the subject.
Can a person without any money start a web-based business ? I believe it can be done.
Have I done it? Not yet. This is my attempt right here.
From now on, you, the reading public, will be privy to my efforts in this process. By the way, anything you can tell me that might help, I'm all ears.
I have been homeless for 5 years now, and I have discovered just how hard it is on the South side of Chicago to get a good job if you have no skills to speak of. At 56, entry-level labor jobs take the wind out of me.
So it is time to use my brain instead of my brawn.
I will be posting different services that I am affiliated with and although I am struggling at the moment, the businesses I post are legitimate. Feel free to click on the links, provided, since it will truly help me off of the streets. More Later...
