To Hell With You, Buddy!

Hey!

I just came from the Chicago Human Services Department and, as I expected, they were of no help in my effort to get off the streets. There is this program that supposedly gets one into a YMCA for 4 months. It sounded too go to be true, so I made it over to the place to check it out.

Here's the deal. After you fill out papers, wait for an hour or so, you get to see a case-worker (or something along that line) to fill out some more papers. They also require a TB test to accept you.

At this point I was drooling. Think about it! After 7 years of homelessness, a place with 4 walls of my own! All I got to do it take the damn test.

Guess what? It costs money get the TB test in Chicago!

For some reason that doesn't sound exactly right. TB is a deadly desease and testing should be made free for the Common Good. Right?

It's the tent for real now!

These Bugs Are Buggin'!

I really am pissed about the bugs at night over at my spot on the "plains". Mosquitoes nibbled on my poor skin at least 5 times despite my best efforts to ward off the tiny vampires. I was thinking I would get some netting, but then it might be better if I bought the tent instead, since it will soon get cold, and I'll need it anyway.
Besides, it (tent) will also serve as shelter against the increasing number of rain storms we've been having, lately.
I tried using painter's drop cloth (plastic). It covered me well but the problem was the condensation inside would get me wet anyway. Well, when I get my little funds soon, I'll definitely get a good tent.
Speaking of good ones, you might want to try this

Boiling Days, Insect Nights.

I have had it with these hot days, and insect-filled nights. I've been blessed to be able to make it to the air-conditioned library, or I might not make it. Along with the heat comes the insects at night. I think I should buy a mosquito net or tent quick! My primary effort must be to repair my poor anorexic bike. Those super thin tires get flat so easily. The tent will be needed anyway when the fall comes. With all the bags I'm carrying, I better find a good place to pitch the tent, like a 'bando. I hope by then that I get a better grasp on how to build a primitive magnetic motor to create electricity. They have some interesting info on that and more at Youtube.
Speaking of interesting info, have you tried Cognigen? Has some great deals on electronics, you should at least look at the site. Click on the link and save some money.
Later Gator..

A New Sleeping Bag Makes All The Difference!

I have finally bought myself a sleeping bag. Beats the hell out of sheets. No more shivering in the cold, moist mornings anymore. Praise God! this encourages me to consider trying to pitch a tent when it gets colder.
The only thing is I got a bag that is rated down to 0 degrees! Hot, sometimes, but as the night wears on it becomes comfortable. Now if only I could do something about these damn biting-ass bugs!
I just don't have the kind of money to spend on Deet every night. Besides, that stuff is made for occasional nights out, not everyday.
I hope you guys don't forget me on the business end of this post. Click on this Special Link and get some great deals on cells phones and the like. You won't regret it. Until next time..
